Auburndale, FL - Montclair State University was defeated 3-2 on Wednesday by Grove City College in their fourth game at the RussMatt Invitational. Wolverines starter Micah Burke went the distance to record his first win of the year

JUSTIN EPIFANIO collected three of the 12 Red Hawk hits to lead the charge for MSU, which fell to 2-5 on the year. 
MICHAEL MUENTENER, 
IAN LYNCH and 
JOHN TEDESCO also tallied multiple hits, while Muentener and 
RYAN THIEME knocked in the two runs. Starter 
MATTHEW LOPEZ went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks, while striking out four. 
The Wolverines got their first run when catcher Andy Fritz homered to left field in the top of the fourth, but Montclair recovered the run in the bottom of the inning when Thieme singled in 
DOM LAMPASONA. David Laylock brought the winning run home in the top of the ninth when he brought Shane Hammel home with a single. Hammel and Tyler Graham both had multi-hit games for Grove City.
MATT LONG (0-1) took the loss for Montclair State, his first of the year. He entered in relief of Lopez, going 4.1 innings while allowing six hits and striking out two. 
The Red Hawks take the field again on Thursday, March 9 when they play Concordia University at 9:00 am in their next RussMatt Invitational game.
