MADISON FRANKE won three individual events for the women with
HUNTER ROMANOWSKI,
KEVIN GIBSON and
KEVIN CLAUSS each earning a victory as Montclair State took on Monmouth University at the Panzer Athletic Center Pool on Friday evening.
The Red Hawks fell to the Division I Hawks as the men dropped a 150-107 decision while the women lost 156-106 as both teams are now 0-2 on the year.
Franke swept the short freestyle races taking the 200 in a time of 1:59.58 in addition to capturing the 50 free with a time of 25.38 seconds and the 100 event in 56.43 seconds. She also swam on the 200 medley relay that placed second as combined with
EMILY ROTHAMEL,
CLAIRE LUIGARD and
MARGAUX WINCHOCK for a time of 1:50.46.
TAYLOR WADDLETON took first in the 1000 freestyle registering a time of 11:15.16 and later was second in the 500 freestyle (5:32.26). Luigard added a win of her own in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.00) and also finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.76) and 200 individual medley (2:21.41).
Winchock added to second-place finishes on the evening in the 200 butterfly (2:25.72) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.98). Rothamel was second in the 1000 freestyle (11:39.37).
Gibson took the top spot in the 500 freestyle (4:58.01) and was second in the 1000 freestyle (10:23.50). Clauss was victorious in the 200 individual medley (2:07.17) and collected second-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.10) and 200 breaststroke (2:19.24).
Romanowski claimed first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.56 seconds and was second in the 200 freestyle (1:48.29).
KEVIN HENNINGSEN was second in the 200 butterfly clocking in at 2:03.12.
Montclair State goes right back to work on Saturday, October 20 traveling to Madison, NJ to face Drew University.
