Montclair, NJ – Junior lefthander
BRIAN REISS tossed a four-hit shutout as Montclair State split its doubleheader with Oneonta on Saturday at Yogi Berra Stadium. The Red Hawks (6-6) blanked the Red Dragons 8-0 in the opener before falling 4-1 in the nightcap.

DANIEL CLEMENTE went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI while
ANDREW OLLWERTHER had two hits.
Reiss got all the runs he needed in the second inning used a pair of Oneonta miscues to scratch across two runs. Ollwether and
HAYDEN REYES successfully pulled off a double steal with Ollwerther swiping home for the first run of the game. An error on a
JUSTIN BATES grounder brought home Reyes for the 2-0 lead.
Reyes drove in a run with a ground out in the fourth and MSU increased its lead to 5-0 in the fifth as Clemente belted a two-run homer to right field. The Red Hawks scored their final three runs in the eighth.
PETER COSENTINO delivered the first with a ground out before Clemente tripled scoring
KYLE FORCINI making the score 7-0. Clemente scampered home on the wild pitch for the final run.
The rest was left up to Reiss, who retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced before allowing his first hit with two outs in the fifth inning. He set down eight straight after that before issuing a walk with one out in the eighth. He immediately picked off the base runner for the second out and, after giving up a double, fanned the final batter to end the inning.
In the ninth, Reiss retired the first two batters before allowing a double to Dominic LaMonica. James Zupo followed with a base hit to right field. Clemente hit Cosentino who then made a perfect relay to Ollwerther nailing LaMonica to end the game.

Oneonta held on to that one-run advantage until the seventh when it scored three times. Mike Graves scored on an error and Deberardinis lofted a sacrifice fly for a 3-0 lead. Mullins came home on a two-out error for the final run.
Montcair State got its run in the bottom of the ninth.
NICK MARTINEZ singled and went to second on a throwing error. He would go to third on a wild pitch and scored as DiDomizio uncorked a second wild pitch.
Cosentino and Martinez each finished 2-for-4 for the Red Hawks.
Montclair returns to action on Sunday, March 24 facing Neumann University at Yogi Berra Stadium with first pitch set for 2:00 pm.
