Rochester, NY – The Montclair State indoor track and field teams competed at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships Friday afternoon.
The two-day event was hosted by Nazareth College and featured teams from both the Atlantic and Northeast Regions.
On the women's side, the distance medley foursome of
JULIA WATTS,
NATASHA SENATUS,
BROOKE FILIPPINI, and
JADE REYNOLDS turned in an 11th place time of 13:06.63. Graduate student
CHRISTINE GRIFFITH competed in the shot put, placing sixth out of 24 competitors. Griffith threw 12.40-meters on her sixth and final attempt, as Sarah Crockett from Brockport won the event with a throw of 13.70-meters.
The men's distance medley quartet of
MATTHEW CARMICHAEL,
BRANDON RIZZO,
NICK ZIPETO, and
PATRICK TUOHEY placed 12th. The foursome clocked in at 10:47.52 in the first of two heats that were run. Freshman
CAMERYN MARTIN had a strong showing in the 60-meter hurdles. The rookie qualified for Saturday's finals by turning in a time of 8.52 during the first round.
The Red Hawks finish up the AARTF Championships beginning at 10 am. Martin gets things started at 10:30 am in the 60-meter hurdles final before the 4X200 quartet of Rizzo,
TIM GOSS,
ROSHAUN WILSON, and
NANA ANTI run at 3 pm. Anti will also be participating in the high jump, which goes off at 1 pm.
