Men's Soccer: Gameday Preview vs. Ramapo

Montclair, NJ – The No. 9/12 Montclair State men's soccer team hits the road to battle Ramapo College in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT

The Red Hawks (11-1-1, 5-0-0 NJAC) upped their winning streak to seven games as they shut out Stockton 2-0 Saturday evening. AMER LUKOVIC tallied both goals while GENE CARLO ALTAMIRANO and JANBI KAGHADO collected assists.

In the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, the Red Hawks moved in a pair of national polls. They climbed to No. 9 in the d3soccer.com, and No. 12 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Polls.

Lukovic earned his second consecutive NJAC Rookie of the Week honor while goalkeeper SHANE KEENAN was tabbed as the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS

The Roadrunners are 6-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the NJAC. They were edged by Rutgers-Camden 2-1 in overtime on Saturday. OSBIN MENDEZ scored the lone goal of the game for Ramapo, who got six saves from goalkeeper Joshua Schaeffer.
 
LAST MEETING

In the NJAC Championship Match last spring, Ramapo earned a 1-0 victory. Massimo Gallorini scored the lone goal on a penalty kick in the seventh minute to give Ramapo the victory.
 
SERIES HISTORY

Montclair is 33-14-6 all-time against the Roadrunners. In 2018, the Red Hawks downed Ramapo three times, including a 5-0 victory in the NJAC Championship Game and 3-0 in the NCAA Sectional Semifinal.
