Montclair, NJ – Sophomore forward
CARLIE VAN TASSEL was selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Region IV Second Team announced on Monday.
It is the second post-season honor for Van Tassel, was named First Team All-NJAC for the second straight season, earlier this month.
The sophomore led Montclair with 12 goals and four game-winning goals while adding an assist and a defensive save.
Van Tassel opened the season with goals in her first four games before scoring twice in a 2-1 win over FDU-Florham on September 22. Van Tassel collected her first career hat trick on DeSales, scoring three times in the 5-2 victory. In the NJAC, she scored twice against William Paterson on October 6 before scoring the lone goal in the 2-1 setback to nationally-ranked TCNJ on October 30.
Van Tassel ranked ninth in the NJAC in both goals and points scored and was fourth in game-winning tallies.
