Montclair, NJ – The No. 8 Montclair State men's soccer team heads south to Chestertown, MD, for the two-day Athey Cup hosted by Washington College beginning Saturday.

PRESEASON RANKING
When the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll was released on August 4, the Red Hawks were chosen eighth in the country. They were one of two New Jersey Athletic Conference teams in the top-25, joining Rowan, who slotted in at No. 15.
 
LAST TIME OUT
In the season-opener Wednesday, the Red Hawks cruised to a 6-1 victory over Centenary University. Six different Red Hawks found the back of the net as the Red Hawks outshot their in-state foes 22-5. Newcomer JOSIAH CRAWFORD tallied a goal and two assists, while rookie AMER LUKOVIC added a goal and an assist.

BULLDOGS REPORT
After not playing in 2020, the Bulldogs were chosen to finish sixth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs return just three student-athletes that started more than 10 games in 2019 and are led by Dimeji Oyinkolade. Oyinkolade led DeSales in scoring in 2019 with seven goals and one assist.
 
LAST MEETING
The Bulldogs and Red Hawks have played each other once before, as the Red Hawks earned a 3-0 victory back on September 1, 1998.
