MIKE JACKSON was selected as the NJHoops.com D3 College Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Jackson earned the award after helping Montclair State to a 2-1 week as MSU maintained its hold on fourth place in the NJAC standings. The first-year Red Hawk averaged 19.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and shot 44 percent from the field, including 42 percent from behind the arc. Jackson was 13-of-14 at the foul line and collected three steals.
Jackson opened the week with 19 points and three rebounds in a loss to first-place Stockton before pouring in a career-best 28 points in an 83-60 bounce-back victory at William Paterson two nights later. He shot 7-of-11 from field, including 6-of-9 from three-point range and made all eight foul shot attempts. Jackson capped off the week with 11 points and three rebounds at Rutgers-Camden during a 69-55 victory.
Jackson is currently averaging 8.4 points per game and had connected 38 times from three-point range this season.
