Jessica Huda Named Assistant Athletic Director For Compliance

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State Department of Athletics announced hiring Jessica Huda as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

"I would first like to thank Rob Chesney and the hiring committee for the diligent effort during the search process," expressed Huda. "Everyone I had the pleasure of speaking with made the decision to join Montclair State athletics that much easier. It was clear that Montclair State Athletics strives for excellence in everything they do. I am extremely excited about this new opportunity at such a prestigious Division III institution. I am looking forward to getting started and becoming a Red Hawk!"

"We are pleased to welcome Jess to the staff," stated Director of Athletics Rob Chesney. "She brings a wealth of experience to the position and we look forward to having her work with our coaches and student-athletes."

Huda joins Montclair State spending three years at King's College in her hometown of Wilkes-Barre, Pa, as the Assistant Athletic Director. While at King's, Huda was instrumental in promoting student-athlete success, including retention, academic college readiness, stress management, and wellness. Additionally, she was tasked with overseeing gameday management operations and oversaw compliance and rules education for all student-athletes and coaches.

Before King's, Huda was Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation at her alma mater, Cabrini University. During her time at Cabrini, she served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation from 2015-2019, also holding the role of Fitness and Wellness Coordinator from 2006-2015. Huda assisted in all areas of event staff management while also overseeing the Cabrini Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

One of Huda's main job functions was supervising and staffing the University's Fitness Center and Strength and Conditioning Services. In cooperation with the Exercise Science and Health Promotions faculty, Huda provided substantive experiential learning opportunities and professional skill development for students majoring in those areas.

Furthermore, Huda served as the department's Drug Testing Coordinator, as well as planning and directing the University's Mitch Kline Cav-a-THON fundraiser, which has raised over $32,000 for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and pediatric cancer research.

Huda has worked with health and counseling services to plan and implement health and wellness educational programs and offered training workshops for personal training certification. Huda also served as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for the last 18 years, helping the program by overseeing budgetary, scheduling, and travel needs, along with assisting in recruiting. She has also done much service to the profession, drafting and submitting grant proposals for the NCAA CHOICES Alcohol Education Grant. Huda is a committee member for the Women's Leaders in College Sports Fundraising and has been a presenter at the NCAA National Convention and NCAA APPLE Conference.
