Fogarty Sets School-Record In Pole Vault At D3 Invitational

Junior Reaches 4.57m, Breaking Four-Year Record

New York, NY – Junior OWEN FOGARTY set a new school record for the pole vault as the Montclair State track, and field teams netted several personal bests at D3 Invitational Friday.
 
MEN'S RECAP
  • Fogarty reached a height of 4.57m, surpassing the previous school record of 4.45m set by Max Greenwood on February 6, 2019.
  • NA'IM KINSEY won the unseeded men's shot put, launching a throw of 14.2m, which marked a PR. In the shot put invitational, JOHN GRIFFITH took third, hitting 15.52m.
  • MYLES DAY and ANTHONY HOLMES notched top-five marks in the long jump, finishing sixth and ninth, respectively. Day was sixth with a leap of 6.38m, with Holmes placing ninth in 6.18m.
  • On the track, KIMANI CARRINGTON took second in the 60m hurdles. After qualifying for the finals with a time of 8.73, the sophomore notched a mark of 8.61 in the finals. KEVIN PEREIRA second in the unseeded 60m, finishing in 7.34.
  • BRANDON BALCACER also advanced to the finals in his event, the 60m dash. The sophomore turned in a preliminary time of 7.22 before placing in the finals at 7.16. SAMAEL MILEVOIX notched a PR in the 400, finishing third in 50.02.
WOMEN'S RECAP
  • TANIYA GILES, tabbed as the NJAC Field Athlete of the Week, placed fourth in the invitational shot put. The freshman reached 12.14m, as TARA MASTROIANNI was 11th in the unseeded shot put in 9.25m.
  • MICHELLE ITOUA qualified for the finals of the 60m, placing eighth in 8.29. The rookie advanced to the final round with a preliminary time of 8.2.
  • Itoua and SIDNEY WHETSTONE were within .11 of each other in the 200m, finishing in 17th and 19th, respectively. Whetstone netted a personal best time of 27.58 in the race and took 10th in the invitational long jump (4.44m).
  • JEALYNE RAMOS hit a PR in the 400m, finishing 12th in 1:02.66 as BRIANNA RODDY, JULIE MURPHY, and ANGIE GONZALEZ notched their PR in the mile.
