Griffith Finishes 18th At NCAA Indoor Championships

Birmingham, Ala. – Junior JOHN GRIFFITH capped off a stellar indoor track and field season by finishing 18th in the shot put at NCAA Indoor Championships.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Griffith reached 15.16m on his third and final attempt to solidify 18th place in the country. The junior was making his second appearance at an NCAA Championship after qualifying for the Outdoor Championships last spring.
 
YEAR IN REVIEW
The Upper Saddle River, NJ native was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year after winning the shot put and taking third in the weight throw at the NJAC Indoor Championships. He climbed up 12 spots, moving to sixth in the country with a distance of 16.59m.
 
FROM THE TRACK
"John had another exceptional season. He has amazing talent, but his work ethic is what makes him such a great thrower. He continues to push himself to new heights, and I am excited for what he does next this outdoor season" – Head Coach Ian Carter.

The Red Hawks turn their attention to the outdoor campaign, which gets underway on March 31.
