Baseball Takes Down Drew, 15-9

Montclair, NJ – The No. 22 Montclair State baseball team took down in-state rival Drew University 15-9 Wednesday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Rangers (10-9) got on the board with a single in the first inning. Montclair State (11-2) responded with three of their own during their first at-bat. JASON MOORE dropped a two-run single into left field before ANTHONY GUARINO singled to right.
  • After the Rangers chipped into the deficit with a tally, Montclair added two in the second. SAM ANGELO tallied an RBI single to center, with Moore adding a sacrifice fly. The Red Hawks added runs in the third and fourth, taking a 7-3 lead after four.
  • Moore delivered a two-run double in the fifth as MATT KALISKE increased the advantage with an RBI knock to right. The Rangers closed to 10-9 in the seventh, plating five runs with only one counting as an earned tally.
  • Montclair State answered back with three markers in the seventh, starting with an RBI triple from Moore. Two batters later, MATTEO PASCULLI laced a run-scoring hit to right before Guarino brought a man home on error.
  • The Red Hawks capped off the scoring in the eighth, as Angelo belted a two-run home run to right-center field.

  • Moore went 4-for-5 with a career-high six RBI.
  • Guarino and Angelo chipped in three RBI, with MILES FEASTER and Angelo scoring four runs.
  • The Red Hawks stole a season-high six bases, with Feaster notching three.
