John Griffith Qualifies For NCAA Indoor Championships

Montclair, NJ – Junior JOHN GRIFFITH of the Montclair State men's track and field team is heading to NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships this weekend.

Griffith qualified for the shot put and will compete Saturday at 11 am at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Upper Saddle River, NJ, catapulted up the national rankings at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, moving to sixth in the country with a 16.59m. The throw was over a foot better than his previous season-best.

Griffith, the NJAC Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year, is making his second trip to nationals after qualifying for the Outdoor Championships last May. The junior is currently eighth in the country in the shot put with his 16.59m toss.
