Rowan Knocks Off Baseball In NJAC Twin-Bill

Glassboro, NJ – The Montclair State baseball team was swept in a doubleheader by No. 19 Rowan University Saturday afternoon.

The Red Hawks (15-6, 2-4 NJAC) fell 6-0 and 14-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Rowan wasted no time scoring, putting up a run in the first inning on a bases-loaded single. Starter DYLAN TALIAFERRO settled in, allowing just one hit over the next three frames to keep it a 1-0 deficit.
  • The Profs doubled their lead in the fifth, pushing an unearned tally across. After a scoreless sixth inning, Rowan scored once in the seventh and three times in the eighth to establish the final margin.
  • Rowan drew first blood in game two, scoring twice in the first. The Profs added multiple runs in four consecutive frames, including a five spot in the sixth to open a 14-0 advantage.
  • Montclair State broke through for their lone run of the afternoon in the top of the eighth inning. RYAN MCKENNA led off with a double and moved to second on a wild pitch. Two batters later, newcomer JACK ZABARSKY singled through the left side, bringing McKenna home.
