2023 Season In Review: Women's Lacrosse

Montclair, NJ – KAITLIN ZAZZARO gained All-Region accolades as the women's lacrosse team registered a pair of overtime victories during the 2023 campaign.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
The Red Hawks picked up their first win of the year on March 4, topping Farmingdale State 11-10 in triple overtime. NORAH MONAGHAN netted the game-winner 1:19 into the third extra session after LUCIANA FERRARA nearly won the game in the second OT. After wins against Morrisville State and Mount Saint Vincent, the Red Hawks tallied their final victory of the year against Ramapo on April 18. After falling behind 6-1, Montclair State notched six of the next seven markers to level the game at seven. Goalkeeper JOEY GROTKOPF denied Ramapo late in the second overtime before JOELLE D'ANGELO ended the contest with an unassisted marker 40 ticks into the third stanza.

ALL-REGION
Zazzaro was tabbed First Team All-Boardwalk Region by the IWLCA after pacing the Red Hawks with 38 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. She forced three turnovers and added four ground balls against Farmingdale State before registering a season-high with four caused turnovers and five ground balls against Morrisville State. The senior added two draw controls with two caused turnovers and two ground balls against TCNJ before forcing three Stockton miscues.
