2022 REWIND
The Red Hawks opened the year with 11 consecutive victories, surrendering just five goals during the spurt. The winning streak culminated with an 8-0 triumph over John Jay, where AILEEN CAHILL and KYLIE PRENDERGAST became the first set of teammates to record a hat trick in the same game. Cahill added a hat trick against Rutgers-Newark, while Prendergast tallied three against William Paterson. Montclair State downed TCNJ 3-2 for the first time since 2014, and needing a win in the regular season finale, the team clipped Kean 3-1 to clinch the No. 1 seed. Montclair battled Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC Semifinals, and a defensive 0-0 battle sent the game into penalty kicks. After both sides converted the first penalty kick, Rutgers-Camden missed the second. KIMBERLY CAMPBELL, AILEEN CAHILL, and KERRI DRISCOLL matched Rutgers-Camden with makes, and NIKI DANZ converted the fifth and final kick, sending Montclair into the finals. After falling to Rowan 2-1 in the Championship, the Red Hawks gained an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Red Hawks moved onto the Second Round with a 1-0 win over Lynchburg on a 56th-minute goal from KERRI DRISCOLL.

SCOUTING ALVERNIA
The Golden Wolves finished 2022 with a 4-9-5 record, with first-year Haley Dougherty gaining Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors. Alvernia has a new Head Coach, as Amanda Bezner takes over. Dougherty was the Golden Wolves' first All-Conference selection since 2017.

LAST MEETING
In their only previous meeting, Montclair picked up a 1-0 win on September 1, 2022. AILEEN CAHILL converted a penalty kick in the 73rd minute as HALEY MARTIN made three saves in the victory. The Red Hawks outshot Alvernia 29-6, including 19-2 in the second half.
