Montclair, NJ- The Montclair State University Athletic Department hosted their 2024 Athletic Open House this past Sunday in the Panzer Athletic Center.
Over 50 NJ high schools were recruited for this "invite only" event that gave prospective student-athletes the opportunity to talk directly with our 18 Varsity Athletic Programs.
Over 140 student-athletes and their families registered for the event. The Director of Athletics, Rob Chesney served as the keynote speaker and welcomed the families and student-athletes to Panzer Athletic Center. The day was highlighted by a panel of coaches, Ian Carter, Head Track and Field and Assist. Football Coach, Nicole Degenhardt, Head Softball Coach, Brian McLaughlin- Head Swimming and Diving Coach and Eduardo Stawinski- Head Volleyball Coach, in which they gave more insight to the world of NCAA Division III Athletics. In addition, our partners from Campus Recreation, Club and Intramural Sports also showcased their fantastic offerings and programs offered to all students at Montclair State University.
Tara Rienecker, Assistant Athletic Director, Senior Women's Administrator ran the event and hopes this new platform will continue in the future. The day was a huge success and created another avenue for student-athletes to have "facetime" with our head coaches and staff.
The day was paired with the Campus Open House in which thousands of students visited campus that morning.
