Men’s Swimming & Diving Topples Stevens in Season Opener, 175-87

Hoboken, NJ- The Montclair State Swimming and Diving Team toppled Stevens in their season opener, 175-87 on Saturday afternoon

HOW IT HAPPENED

MICHAEL SALVATORI led the way for Montclair individually when he put together 27 individual points with three wins in his events today. He placed first in the 200 free (1:48.57), 200 back (1:57.65) and 200 IM (2:00.18).
LUCAS GOMES notched two first-place finishes on the day when he won the 50 free with a time of 21.59 and in the 100 free with a time of 49.04. He also swam the 100 fly and touched the wall second among the field when he clocked a 53.32. That notched 22 points for the Red Hawks
In his first collegiate meet, PETER JARZAB tallied 21 points with two individual wins in the 100 fly (52.64) and the 200 fly (1:59.37). He also earned a third-place finish in the 100 free when he clocked a 49.50.
The Red Hawks also saw another freshman shine with VINCENT TERZO, who also collected two first-place finishes today in distance events. He touched the wall first in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.86 and the 1000 free with a time of 10:17.88.
Montclair had the winning quartet in the 400 free relay. The mashup up MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ DENNIS DELARGY, BOBBY FREECE and ANTHONY FERRARO clocked a team time of 3:19.13.
