Gettysburg, Pa.- The Montclair State Swimming and Diving Team saw two more records fall during their final day at the Gettysburg Invite on Saturday. The Red Hawks finished second place out of five teams with a score of 782.5
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was once again MICHAEL SALVATORI who knocked down another school record when he broke the 400 IM record with a time of 4:05.00, that took first place at the event. He broke the record that teammate RYAN KAPPES broke at last year's NJAC Championship which clocked in at 4:09.42.
- The other record came in the 400 free relay. The quartet of LUCAS GOMES, BOBBY FREECE, PETER JARZAB, and MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ clocked a team time of 3:08.74. That broke the record set by Michael Smith, Joseph Barry, Zak Westerberg, and Michael Smith back at the 2017 Metropolitan Championships which was set at 3:09.51
- Gomes tied with Max McAllister from Gettysburg to share a first-place finish in the 100 fly. Both clocked a 50.42 time. Jarzab finished right after both of them with a season-best time of 50.85. Jarzab also placed first in the 200 fly with a career-high time of 1:55.91.
- Kappes finished right behind Salvatori's 400 IM record when he clocked a 4:17.07 for a second-place finish. He also earned second in the 1650 free, clocking a 16:45.18 in his first swim in this event of the year.
