Men's Swimming & Diving Posts Strong Times At NJAC Championships

College Park, Md. - The Montclair State University men's swimming & diving team sits seventh after two days of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Hawks put three swimmers in the finals of the 500-freestyle. RYAN KAPPES was the top finisher, placing 15th overall at 4:47.14. LUCAS MIGLIN notched a 20th-place time of 4:46.59, with ANTHONY FERRARO clocking in at 4:49.31.
LUCAS GOMES qualified for the "C" finals in the 50-free as he placed 19th overall. Gomes tallied a mark of 21.64, missing second in the "C" final by .03 seconds. The Red Hawks closed the night with a sixth-place finish in the 400-medley relay. DENNIS DELARGY, SPENSER DUBOIS, LUCAS GOMES, and MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ clocked in at 3:26.07.
SEAN NUGENT swam in the 500 during the morning, registering a time of 5:08.93 as Tristian Lee (1:59.2), BRANDON DO (1:59.56), JOHN ENGLERT (1:59.58), and JOHN MORRIS (1:59.66) finished consecutively in the 200-IM.
SERGIO RESTREPO competed in the 1-meter dives, tallying 214.8 points.

UP NEXT
The Red Hawks resume the NJAC Championships tomorrow morning, with the meet beginning at 10:30 am for preliminaries and 6:00 pm for the finals. Please note that the start times for each have been pushed back an hour due to impending bad weather.
