Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State men's indoor track & field team will open competition at the AARTFC Indoor Regional Championships on Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
JOHN GRIFFITH and
JABEZ THOMAS notched wins at the NJAC Indoor Championships last Monday. The senior notched victories in both the weight throw and the shot put. Griffith eclipsed the school record in the weight throw by throwing 17.58m on his final attempt. He shattered Eugene Asimou's previous mark of 16.31m, which has stood since 2010. After reaching 15.82m on his first throw, the junior hit 16.46m on his second try to win. He was the only one to throw over 16m, winning by 1.17m.
JABEZ THOMAS was the final winner on the men's side, taking first in the triple jump. He saved his best for last, notching a PR with a distance of 14.43m.
OWEN FOGARTY finished third in the pole vault, reaching a height of 4.3m.
BECK DEENY (13.46m) and
JALANI JOSEPH (13.28m) posted top-six marks in the triple jump, with
ANTHONY DIMAULO placing fourth in the long jump (6.55m). The 4x400 relay finished third, as
DANIEL ALSINA,
COURTNEY ROGERS JR.,
DAMJAN DIMITROVSKI, and Nicholas Schaeffer turned in a time of 3:27.1.
