Men's Track & Field Closes Out TCNJ Invite

Ewing, NJ – The Montclair State University men's track & field team posted AARTFC Regional qualifying times at the TCNJ Invite and Multi on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

OWEN FOGARTY punched his ticket to regionals, winning the pole vault with a height of 4.45m. Fogarty was one of two competitors to hit 4.45m but was the winner as he reached it in fewer attempts.
JALANI JOSEPH took third in the high jump, hitting an AARTFC qualifying height of 1.94m. Also in the field events, JOHN GRIFFITH was second in the shot put (14.63m) and third in the discus (45.5m).
JABEZ THOMAS (6.58m) and KEYSHAWN DIXON (6.56m) recorded top-6 marks in the long jump, with VAN DALTON placing second in the 100-timed final with a PR of 11.81. KAMAL KHAN hit a PR in the 1,500-meter, notching a ninth-place time of 4:13.56.
JOSEPH BIO and LAITH SALEH qualified for the finals in the 110-hurdles. Bio took second, clocking in at 16.38, as Saleh was fifth at 16.69. Saleh shaved a full second off his preliminary round time. Bio also competed in the 400 hurdles, taking fifth in 57.95.

"Tough weather conditions today, but I like that we still went out and competed fairly well. We had a couple regional qualifiers. We are three weeks from NJACs so we really need to buckle down and get everything in order. Excited to go to Moravian next week for a highly competitive meet." – Head Coach Ian Carter.

UP NEXT
The Red Hawks head to Pennsylvania on Friday, competing in the two-day Coach Pollard Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa. Action gets underway at 2 pm.
