Bethlehem, Pa. – The Montclair State University men's track and field team opened up the Coach Pollard Invitational on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• JOHN GRIFFITH placed second in the shot put, reaching 15.35m. He was one of four Red Hawks in the event, as MATTHEW HAILU (11.77m), BRYAN ALVAREZ (11.35m), and RANDY WORTHINGTON (10.52m) also threw.
• Griffith took fifth in the hammer throw, reaching 48.27m. The senior missed fourth by .06m. Hailu (29.06m) and Worthington (25.05m) rounded out the hammer throw field for Montclair.
