Ewing, NJ – JOHN GRIFFITH of the Montclair State University men's track & field team posted a personal-best in the hammer throw at Lions Invitational on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Griffith took sixth overall and was the second highest Division III finisher in the event. The senior, who hit 45.61 and 45.85m on his second and fourth attempts, reached 50.81m on his third. Griffith reached 50m for the third time in his four years.
• In addition to Griffith, Montclair had three compete in the javelin. JACK VERBEL took 15^th (46.26m), GABRIEL DAYON was 17^th (45.47m), and LEONARDO PALESCANDOLO (43.59m) was 20^th in the event.
