Montclair, NJ - Montclair State Women's Swimming & Diving senior JULIE TIEDEMANN set a new pool record in the 1650 free as the Red Hawks opened up their 2025 schedule at home where they earned a 147-87 dual meet win against FDU-Florham on Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The meet kicked off with a trial run of the 1650 free where Tidemann clocked an 18:00.02 time to break the pool record.
• ROURKE PERALTA was the lone Red Hawk to notch two individual wins during the meet. She was victorious for the eighth time of the year in the 50 free when she clocked a 25.43. She also won the 50 fly with a time of 27.03.
• In other sprint events, ABBY BROCK won the 50 breast (31.59) and SOPHIA SHOPOVICK touched the wall first in the 50 back (29.07).
• The Red Hawks also saw victories from DEVYN FORD in the 200 free (2:08.03), Catherine Geyer in the 100 fly (1:03.18), Marianne Tassanari in the 100 free (56.56), JULIA WEINREB in the 100 back, SARAH FONDACARO in the 100 breast, and KACIE GADZINSKI in the 500 free (5:39.45).
• In the relay events, Montclair took both wins in the 200 medley and 200 free relays. The mashup of ABBY PANZARELLA, Fondacaro, SARAH BENT, and Julianna Skopp-Cardillo touched the wall first with a time of 1:54.37. In the 200 free relay, the quartet of Peralta, Geyer, BRYN WILSON, and Skopp-Cardillo took the win when they clocked a 1:43.40.
