Craigwell Earns D3hoops.com Preseason All-American

Montclair, NJ – D3hoops.com announced its 2025-26 Preseason All-America Teams on Wednesday evening, with Montclair State University women's basketball sophomore ALYSSA CRAIGWELL earning a spot on the list heading into the new season.

Craigwell was selected to the Fifth Team, becoming one of just two sophomores to appear on any of the preseason squads—joining Hardin-Simmons' Jacqueline Berry—and the lone representative from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). She is also the first Red Hawk to receive Preseason All-America honors since current Associate Head Coach Katie Sire earned Second Team recognition prior to the 2017-18 season.

Craigwell is coming off a stellar freshman campaign, in which she averaged 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while also tallying 60 steals, 36 blocks, and 29 assists. Her all-around performance helped lead Montclair State to its eighth NJAC title and an NCAA Tournament victory, highlighted by a stunning first-round upset over #3/#9 Christopher Newport.

Accolades were plentiful for Craigwell last season. She was named the D3hoops.com Rookie of the Year, D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region, First Team All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA), NJAC Rookie of the Year, and First Team All-NJAC. She also earned seven NJAC Rookie of the Week honors, tying Red Hawk Hall of Famer Stephanie Machin for the most in program history.

The Red Hawks will look to build on last year's success when they open the 2025-26 season on Friday, November 8, hosting Albright College inside the Panzer Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
