Pitman, NJ- Montclair State University Athletics had a big week between September 29 and October 5 as the program saw a year-high six student-athletes get named NJAC Players of the Week for their efforts in their respective sports. The list spans five different sports.

Rubinetti had an incredibly well-rounded day on special teams during Montclair's 38-28 win at Kean on Saturday. He converted on all five extra points and made a clutch field goal at the end of the game to push the game to a double-digit lead with just 52 seconds left. As a punter, he had four punts for 160 yards (40-yard average). Three of his punts were fair caught, one went inside the 20, and one hit a distance of 59 yards. He also kicked off seven times for 286 yards, forcing returns from Kean that eventually turned into two forced fumble recoveries, one at the end of the game to seal the win.

Monteiro had a big week for Montclair to help earn them two conference wins. On Wednesday, he netted both goals during a 2-1 win against Kean. He came back on Saturday and scored again to help propel Montclair to a 2-1 win at TCNJ.

Cornelius continues to shine and played a big part during a 4-0 week for Montclair State. The freshman setter finished the week with 133 assists, 23 digs, 12 total blocks, nine kills, and seven service aces. Her spotlight performance of the week came during a five-set thriller against Stevens, where she totaled a season-high 42 assists to go along with 11 digs, five total blocks, two kills, and a service ace.

Smilevski had a great showing in his debut meet for the Red Hawks at the College of Staten Island Kick-Off Invite, placing top-4 in all of his events. Max contributed to a first-place finish in the 200-free relay (1:27.23), placed second in the 200 free (1:49.05), and saw two fourth-place finishes in the 50 free (22.60) and 100 free (49.56).

Hitchens opened up her season with a second-place finish at the College of Staten Island Kick Off Invite on Saturday. The senior, in five dives, put together a score of 142.95.

Devone had a great start to her rookie season for Montclair on Saturday. She contributed to a second-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:41.54) and individually placed second in the 100 back (1:02.31). She also placed sixth in the 200 back (2:19.96) and eighth in the 50 free (27.02).

Cornelius was the lone repeat winner of the group, earning her second NJAC Rookie of the Week award, with the rest of the pack earning honors for the first time this season.
