Women’s Swimming & Diving Downs Stevens, 144-118

Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State University Women's Swimming & Diving team (3-2) played host to visiting Stevens (0-3) on Friday night, where they downed the Ducks by a score of 144-118.

How It Happened

Once again, it was ROURKE PERALTA leading the pack with two individual wins on the night. She took home wins in the 50 free (24.31) and 100 free (54.49). She also finished third in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.14
MARIANNE TASSINARI had another strong night with a first and two second-place finishes. She was victorious in the 200 breast with a time of 2:31.09 and finished second in both the 200 free (2:01.31) and 200 IM (2:15.72).
Also seeing individual wins were ABBY PANZARELLA and SADIE CRISPELL. Panzarella outraced the competition in the 200 back (2:17.26) and Crispell in the 100 breast (1:11.74). Both of them also finished third in an individual event, Panzarella in the 100 back (1:02.88) and Crispell in the 200 breast (2:35.73).
LILY CONLON, CATTY GEYER, and TESSA DEVONE each placed second in two events in the meet. Conlon was second in both the 500 free (5:30.24) and 1000 free (11:14.90), Geyer touched the wall second in the 100 free (55.69) and the 200 fly (2:17.72), and TESSA DEVONE placed second in the 50 free (25.33) and 100 back (1:02.07)
Also seeing second-place finishes were Leticia Laynez and MADELINE ROGERS. Laynez earned second in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.48, and Rogers in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.36. Laynez also notched third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.22.
AMELIA FANNING and KACIE GADZINSKI each added a third-place finish in distance free events. Fanning finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:34.52, and Gadzinski in the 1000 free with a time of 11:21.37.
The 200-medley relay of Devone, Tassinari, Rogers, and Peralta took home first with a team time of 1:51.85. The 400-free relay mashup of Geyer, Rogers, MADDY WISHNOW, and Fanning finished off the meet with a second-place time of 3:46.33

Up Next

Montclair will hit the road for a meet at Drew on Friday, November 21. The first event is set for a 3:30 p.m. start.
