Pitman, NJ- Announced on Monday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, Montclair State University women's basketball Sophomore ALYSSA CRAIGWELL and men's basketball Freshman CRISTIAN NICHOLSON were named NJAC Athletes of the Week for their performances between December 8-14.
 
Craigwell was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Nicholson was honored as the Rookie of the Week.
 
Craigwell was exceptional once again on the week for Montclair, averaging a double-double with 17.0 points and 10.5 rebounds during a 2-0 week. She also tallied eight assists, seven steals, and two blocks. On Wednesday, during a 70-48 win at Ramapo, she recorded 14 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and a block. She came back on Saturday and led the team to a 69-56 win against Rutgers-Camden with a 20-point, 14-rebound, five-assist, and two-steal performance. 
 
Nicholson had a terrific week to help lead Montclair to another two conference wins and a 9-0 overall record. He averaged 14 points on the week and totaled 11 assists, six steals, four rebounds, and a block. On Wednesday, he saw a season-high 18 points to go along with three steals and two assists in a 95-72 win at Ramapo. He came back on Saturday and had a near double-double with 10 points and nine assists as well as three steals during a 89-63 win at home against Rutgers-Camden.
 
Craigwell earned her second NJAC weekly award of the season and the 10^th of her career. Nicholson nabs his second Rookie of the Week honor this season.
