Tassinari and Peralta Notch Wins for Women's Swimming & Diving in Day One of Gettysburg Invite

Gettysburg, PA – The Montclair State University women's swimming & diving team opened the first day of competition at the Gettysburg Invite on Friday evening.

The Red Hawks amassed 184 points, ranking second among the field of six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Montclair kicked off the competition with a third place finish in the 200 free relay, notching a time of 1:37.78 with the group of ROURKE PERALTA, TESSA DEVONE, MADDY WISHNOW, and RACHEL YUSHAN.
MARIANNE TASSINARI was the first winner of the night, clocking in at 2:09.79 in the 200 IM to claim the event. CATTY GEYER recorded a sixth place finish with a time of 2:13.62.
In the 50 free, ROURKE PERALTA raced in with a time of 23.75 to take the top spot in the event.
To round out the evening, the Red Hawks placed third in the 400 medley relay as Devone, Tassinari, MADELINE ROGERS, and Peralta clocked in with a mark of 4:00.77. ABBY PANZARELLA, SADIE CRISPELL, Geyer, and Wishnow combined for a time of 4:06.37 to place seventh.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

Montclair ranks second in the field after one night of competition, trailing Gettysburg (353 points).
They sit ahead of Scranton (160 points), Dickinson (145 points), Shippensburg (116 points), and Messiah (87 points).

UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will compete in two sessions to wrap up competition at the Gettysburg Invite on Saturday, December 6. The morning session will start at 9:30 AM, with the evening kicking off at 5:30 PM.
