Biffot Breaks Triple Jump Record for Men’s Indoor Track & Field at TCNJ Season Opener

New York, NY- Montclair State University sophomore HIVEN BIFFOT picked up where he left off last season and broke his own triple jump record to kick off the season for the Red Hawks at the TCNJ Season Opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Biffot just barely broke his own record from last season's national championship meet. He outjumped it by .01m with a 15.11m (49' 7") mark that won the event and was nearly a meter better than the second-place finisher.
Also taking first in an event was JALEN BALBUENA, who notched first in the long jump with a mark of 7.07m (23' 2.5"). He was followed by ELIAS HANLEY, who placed second with a jump of 6.70m (21' 11.75") and SHELDON AGYEMANG, who notched fourth with a distance of 6.64m (21' 9.5").
JAHMIR BEAL led the pack in the 60-meter dash. He placed third in his collegiate debut with a time of 6.98.
JALANI JOSEPH earned himself a third-place finish in the high jump. He posted a height of 1.88m (6 2") and led all Division III entries.
AYODEJI AJAO and RONALD INGLETON also competed in the triple jump. Ajao finished fifth with a distance of 13.08m (42' 11"), and Ingleton placed sixth with a mark of 12.87m (42' 2.75").
In the 5000-meter run, GAVIN CASELLA placed seventh among the field with a time of 17:20.38.
JABRI JOSEPH saw himself with two seventh-place finishes in the shot put and the weight throw. He threw 12.82m (42' 0.75") in the shot put and 11.15m (36' 7") in the weight throw.
Neo Barnabe notched eighth in the weight throw with a distance of 9.77m (32' 0.75"), while RANDY WORTHINGTON finished ninth in the shot put with a mark of 11.44m (37' 6.5").

Montclair State University heads on winter break and will return for the full swing of the season starting on Friday, January 16, at the Ramapo Indoor Invite. That meet will be held at the NYC Armory starting at 9:30 a.m.
