Haverford, Pa.- The Montclair State University Indoor Track and Field team competed at the Seamus McElligot Invitational on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• On the track, JOSEPH BIO led the way in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.03 and placed third. He was followed by CAMERON COOPER, who placed fourth when he clocked a 9.24.
• Leading the way for the Red Hawks in the 60m dash was JAYSON ELLIS, who was the lone top-10 finisher when he placed sixth with a time of 7.30.
• Alex Carmelli was the lone competitor for Montclair in the 800-meter run. He finished seventh in the event with a time of 2:21.31.
• In the field, ELIAS HANLEY and SHELDON AGYEMANG each saw top-three finishes in the long jump. Hanley placed second with a mark of 6.39m with Agyemang placing third at 6.31m.
• In the triple jump, JABEZ THOMAS notched a mark of 13.74m and placed second in the event.

 
INSIDE THE RESULTS

• Thomas' triple jump mark was the best of his indoor career and was the best mark of the year for the Red Hawks. His mark is currently fourth best in the NJAC and ninth in the region.

• "Not a great performance overall for our standards, but still some positives to work on. We are about three weeks out from NJACs, so time to really lock in with our training starting next week" Head Coach Ian Carter.

• Montclair State University will be back in action next Friday, February 7 when they compete in the Fastrack Invite at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, New York.
