Salvatori’s 400 IM Record Highlights Men’s Swimming & Diving on NJAC Championships Day Three

Hampden, Virginia- The Montclair State Swimming and Diving team graduate student MICHAEL SALVATORI broke his 400 IM record he set earlier this year to highlight the Red Hawks on day three of the NJAC Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Salvatori notched himself a spot in the championship final and clocked a 3:58.57 for a fourth-place finish and an NCAA "B" cut time. He bested his time of 4:05.00 that he clocked earlier this year at the Gettysburg Invite. RYAN KAPPES competed in the "B" final and clocked a 4:08.49 for a 13th-place finish. JARED GAYNOR earned a spot in the "C" final and posted a time of 4:23.16 to place 21^st.
In the 100 fly, PETER JARZAB had the best finish with a spot in the "B" final. He touched the wall 12^th overall with a personal best time of 49.97. LUCAS GOMES finished a few spots behind him in 14^th with a time of 51.02. ADRIAN GONZALEZ closed out the "B" finals with a time of 51.62 and placed 16^th. MASON WOODS qualified for the "C" finals and finished with a time of 52.82 that finished 22^nd.
BOBBY FREECE had the highest standing in the 200 free. He competed in the "B" final and clocked a 1:43.58 for 13^th place. VINCENT TERZO rounded off the "B" final when he placed 16^th with a time of 1:47.83. In the "C" final, MICHAEL WOJCIECHOWICZ placed 19^th with a time of 1:44.53. He was followed by ANTHONY FERRARO in 20^th place with a time of 1:45.09.
MATT DETTLINGER was the lone Red Hawk in the 100 breast event. He was in the "C" final and finished 18^th with a time of 57.61.
The night was rounded off in the 100 back. DENNIS DELARGY placed 15^th overall with a time of 53.16 in the "B" final. In the "C" Final, ANDREW PEARCE placed 20^th with a time of 53.95 and MASON DRANCHAK clocked a 55.44 for a 24^th-place finish.

UP NEXT

The NJAC Championships will conclude on Sunday, February 15. The trial meet will take place at 9:30 am at the Hampden Aquaplex with the finals meet kicking off at 5:00 pm.
