Baseball Falls to Adrian, 8-2

High Point, NC – The Montclair State University baseball team fell to Adrian 8-2 on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks (7-3) fell behind in the opening stanza, as a double to right center with two outs led to a single during th next at-bat to give the Bulldogs the early advantage. They tripled their lead in the second, as a walk and a double led to a ground out that plated a run and a sacrifice fly in back-to-back at-bats.
  • Adrian pushed the lead to four in the fourth, as they capitalized on a single to left field with a double to center during the next at-bat to drive the run in. They pushed their lead to seven in the eighth, as they placed two runners on base with back-to-back walks before clearing the diamond with a home run to right field to make the score 7-0.
  • After the Bulldogs added to their lead in the next frame on a triple and double, Montclair broke through for their first runs of the game in the ninth. MATT SHUHET got hit by a pitch after pinch hitting for JUSTIN KILYK, and two at-bats later, MATTEO PASCULLI hit a pinch hit home run to right field to make the final margin six.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
  • The home run for Pasculli marked the first of his collegiate career, with the appearance marking his season debut.
  • CHRIS HASTINGS made his collegiate debut in the game, as he threw three innings and struck out three batters.
