Biffot Wins Triple Jump as Men's Track & Field Competes at AARTFC Championships

Ithaca, NY – The Montclair State University men's track & field team competed at the AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Hawks were led by a strong performance from their Triple Jump group, as HIVEN BIFFOT won the event with a mark of 14.82.
JABEZ THOMAS (14.37) placed third among the group, with BECK DEENY rounding out the top five at 14.01. JALANI JOSEPH also participated in the event and recorded a mark of 12.78.
In the 4x200m Relay, the group of ANTHONY HOLMES, AOSUUTA WYNN, SHELDON AGYEMANG, and ELIAS HANLEY finished with a time of 1:33.08, placing 17th in the event.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

Biffot's mark was a new personal best, finishing .08 shy of the indoor record. He ranks seventh in the nation in the event.
Thomas notched a new season best and now ranks 21st in the country in the Triple Jump and has the potential to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.
As a team, Montclair ranks fourth in the nation for the event, with the potential to move up.

UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will have potentially two student-athletes, with Biffot already qualified, competing at the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Rochester, NY. The first day of the competition will be on Friday, March 14.
