Triple Jump Shines for Men’s Outdoor Track & Field on NJAC Championship Day Two

Ewing, NJ. - The Montclair State University men's outdoor track and field saw its triple jumpers shine for them as they capped off the second and final day of the NJAC Championships on Sunday. They finished in fourth place as a team with 49 points.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Red Hawks saw four of the five top spots in the event, including JABEZ THOMAS who was crowned the NJAC Champion with a mark of 14.73m (48' 4"). Tailing him in second was HIVEN BIFFOT, who took silver with a distance of 14.68m (48' 2"). BECK DEENY placed fourth with a jump of 14.08m (46' 2.5"), and AYODEJI AJAO rounded out the top five with a jump of 13.47m (44' 2.5") that placed fifth.
  • Representing the Red Hawks in the 4x100 were MILES ALLEN, AOSUUTA WYNN, SHELDON AGYEMANG, and JAYSON ELLIS. The quartet put together a time of 43.01 that placed fifth among the field.
  • Allen, Courtney Rogers, DAMJAN DIMITROVSKI, and KYESHAUN SYLVESTER paired up for the 4x400 relay and earned the second fifth-place relay finish when they clocked a 3:35.38.
  • Inside the top 10 in the high jump was Jared Koon, who produced a mark of 1.78m (5' 10"). Biffot also competed and tied for ninth with a jump of 1.73m (5' 8").
  • Just inside the top 10 was XAVIAN PENA in the shot put when he placed 10th in the event with a throw of 12.21m (40' 0.75").
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Thomas won his second career outdoor triple jump championship, becoming the first ever Red Hawk to win the event multiple times.
  • Biffot and Deeny's jumps were both good for regional qualifying marks.
  • Both relay teams earned regional qualifying marks as well.
