Pitman, NJ- Announced on Monday afternoon by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) office, the Montclair State University field hockey team is predicted to replicate its standing from last season with a third-place finish, according to the 2025 NJAC Coaches Preseason Poll.

The team to beat continues to be Rowan, who will be in search of its fifth-straight NJAC title.
 
Montclair finished its 2024 season with its best overall record since 2018, posting a 13-6 record. They placed third in the conference with a 4-2 NJAC record, which qualified them for the NJAC Tournament, but suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime defeat at TCNJ in the semifinals.
 
The Red Hawks' road to becoming NJAC Champions for the first time since 2012 begins on Friday, August 29, when they welcome in 2024 SUNYAC Champion Cortland for a noon-time start.
