SYDNEY WHITE was recognized by the organization as a Division III Honorable Mention Defensive Player of the Week.

Every week, the NFHCA honors the top performers in the country with its National Players of the Week awards. Sydney adds this honor to the NJAC Defensive Player of the Week she earned this weekend as well.

White anchored Montclair State defensively in a challenging weekend against nationally ranked opponents. On Friday, she recorded five saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over No. 12 Cortland. Two days later, she tallied eight saves while yielding just one goal on a penalty stroke against No. 19 MIT. White finished the weekend with 13 saves and an impressive .929 save percentage.

She becomes the first Red Hawk in recent memory to earn a weekly honor from the NFHCA.

Field hockey is back in action on Saturday, September 6, when they hit the road to take on Franklin & Marshall at 3:00 p.m.
