Peralta’s NCAA “B” Cut and Silver Medal 50 Free Swim Highlights Women’s Swimming & Diving on Day Two at NJAC Championships

Hampton, VA – Montclair State University Women's Swimming & Diving senior ROURKE PERALTA had the swim of the evening for the Red Hawks, earning an NCAA "B" cut time and a silver medal to highlight day two of the NJAC Championships. Montclair stands in third after 14 events with a score of 309

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Peralta qualified for the 50 free Championship Final and earned her "B" cut time and second-place finish with a time of 23.48. TESSA DEVONE qualified for the Consolation Final and finished 16th with a time of 24.91. MADELINE ROGERS and MADDY WISHNOW earned their way into the Bonus Final. Rogers won the Bonus Final with 17th place (24.75), while Wishnow finished 20th among the field (24.93).
  • In the 200 IM, MARIANNE TASSINARI earned her way back to the Championship Final and ultimately placed sixth with a time of 2:10.14. Both Leticia Laynez and CATTY GEYER competed in the Consolation Finals. Laynez touched the wall 13th overall with a time of 2:13.97, while Geyer notched 15th with a time of 2:14.43.
  • AUDREY HITCHENS found her way back into the one-meter diving finals. She put together a score of 298.95 that saw her just outside of a podium finish.
  • The trio of AMELIA FANNING, LILY CONLON, and DEVYN FORD qualified for the Bonus Finals in the 500 free. Fanning led the way with an 18th-place finish (5:19.92), while Conlon placed 23rd (5:21.97), and Ford at 23rd (5:24.27).
  • Teaming up together for the 400 medley relay wereABBY PANZARELLA, Tassinari, Rogers, and Peralta. The quartet finished with a time of 3:57.00 , which was good for a fifth-place finish.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Peralta, with her second-place finish in the 50 free, earned the 15th medal of her career. She also had medaled each year she competed in the 50 free.
