Long Jump Group Leads Way for Men's Track & Field at NYU DIII Invitaitonal

New York, NY – Led by a strong group in the long jump, the Montclair State University Men's Track & Field team competed at the NYU DIII Invitational on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

JALEN BALBUENA claimed the long jump with a mark of 7.08m, which places him third in program history in the event. His mark is the new 22nd-best mark across Division III for the 2025-26 campaign.
Right behind him was SHELDON AGYEMANG, whose mark of 6.94m finished second for the day and ranks eighth in program history. ELIAS HANLEY's 6.80m placed fourth in the event and ninth in program history. All three long jump performances marked new career-bests for the Red Hawks.
In the sprints, JAHMIR BEAL finished third in the 60m with a time of 6.95 seconds and JAYSON ELLIS placed fifth at 6.99 seconds. Beal recorded a 10th-place finish in the 200m, clocking in at 22.68 seconds.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

Hanley (22.88 seconds) notched a season-best in the 200m while JESSE BAIDOO (22.88 seconds) recorded a new career-best.
JOSEPH HADRICK tallied a new personal-best time of 55.31 seconds in the 400m.
NEO BERNABE accumulated career-best marks in the shot put (12.17m) and the weight throw (12.87m).

UP NEXT

The Red Hawks will travel to Philadelphia, PA for the 2025-26 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships. Day one of the competition will be on Saturday, February 21, with the meet scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
