Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Opens Up Osprey Open with Multiple Top Finishes

Galloway, NJ. - The Montclair State University men's outdoor track and field team opened up the first day of the Osprey Open with multiple top finishes on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Montclair saw four top 10 finishes in the javelin. The Red Hawks were once again paced in the javelin by MARKOS HANTSOULIS, who won the event in his second-straight meet with a throw of 65.59m (215' 2"). Gabe Dayon placed third with a throw of 50.22m (164' 9"), MOHAMMED ABDALLAH notched fifth with a distance of 46.37m (152' 1"), and LEONARDO PALESCANDOLO finished eighth with a mark of 42.39m (139' 1").
The 4x200 relay consisting of JAHMIR BEAL, ELIAS HANLEY, AOSUUTA WYNN, and JAYSON ELLIS took first in the event with a team time of 1:27.48.
In the hammer throw, the Red Hawks placed three student-athletes in the top five. Neo Barnabe led with a third-place throw of 39.64m (130'). He was immediately followed by JABRI JOSEPH, who notched fourth (39.60m/129' 11") and JAYDEN JENKINS, who slotted in at fifth (37.53m/123' 1").
RONALD INGLETON rounded off a successful first day with a top-five finish in the triple jump. He notched fifth with a jump of 12.74m (41' 9.75")

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Dayon and Palescandolo each saw season-best marks.
Bernabe and Jenkins each threw personal-best distances.
The 4x200 relay team clocked the second-best time in program history, and it was the fastest time recorded since 1992.
