Men's Track & Field Tallies Three Top Five Marks at Day One of NJAC Championships

Mahwah, NJ – The Montclair State University Men's Track & Field team opened competition at the 2026 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Red Hawks were headlined by MARKOS HANTSOULIS, who placed fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 57.13m. Gabe Dayon also notched a top ten finish in the event, ranking seventh at 53.12. Rounding out the group in the top 15 was MOHAMMED ABDALLAH, who placed 12th with a mark of 49.51m.
Remaining in the field events, ELIAS HANLEY registered a top five finish in the long jump, coming in at 6.94m to rank fifth among the field. SHELDON AGYEMANG came in 11th at 6.44m.
On the track, JAHMIR BEAL qualified for the finals in the 100m with a time of 10.77 seconds. His AARTFC qualifying time ranked fifth in the event going into its conclusion on Sunday afternoon.
In the hammer throw, JABRI JOSEPH (42.91m) and NEO BERNABE (42.64m) placed sixth and seventh respectively, with JAYDEN JENKINS notching a 12th place mark of 36.65m.
Rounding out the events on the track were Beal, who placed 11th in the 200m with a time of 21.99 seconds, and JESSE BAIDOO in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 57.36 seconds.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

Montclair finished the day ranked fourth among the field with 16 points, eight ahead of the next highest team.

The Red Hawks will return to Ramapo for the second day of the 2026 NJAC Championships, with the meet scheduled to resume at 10:00 AM in Mahwah, NJ.
