Macchia, the NJAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, tossed his third complete game of the season and second in conference play this year as well as his first career shutout of the year in a 4-0 win over TCNJ. Macchia limited the Lions to four singles and at one point retired 15 of 18 batters from the first through sixth innings. Only two runners reached second base against Macchia, who punctuated his 105-pitch performance with a strikeout to end the game. Macchia is currently 4-1 on the season with a 1.15 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched. He currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in victories, third in ERA and is ninth in opponent batting average (.195) and 10^th in innings pitched.  His 31 strikeouts in 2014 are currently 12th in the league. Montclair State is currently 15-14 overall, 9-5 in the NJAC and in fourth place in the conference with one week left to play.
