Purchase, NY - The Montclair State men's lacrosse team got back on the winning track today with an 11-6 victory at Manhattanville College in a Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference match. MSU is now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in KLC play.
SEAN PEKARSKY (Clifton, NJ) scored three goals (including the game-winner) and set up two others for the Red Hawks, who built a 6-2 lead by halftime.
CHRIS MEIXNER (Hamburg, NJ) and
DAVE STRUNK (Pottstown, PA) scored two goals each for MSU, while
KEVIN GONDRES (Fair Lawn, NJ) notched a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper
VINNY DEGENNARO (Fair Lawn, NJ) made 17 saves for MSU, including eight in the fourth quarter alone.
Giff Degen tallied three goals and an assist for Manhattanville, while SCOTT COHEN scored MC's other three goals.
Montclair outshot Manhattanville, 36-34, and scored once in two extra-man opportunities. The Red Hawks also snuffed 6-of-7 extra-man attempts by the host Valiants.
