Montclair, NJ- Announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization, the Montclair State University Red Hawks earned 11 total Academic All-District at-large selections for their performances on and off the field this past calendar year. Montclair saw five male and six female student-athletes, who spanned three of its varsity sports.
The Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected annually by CSC, honors the nation's top student-athletes who excel academically and athletically. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA. The at-large selections honor the following sports; Men's Fencing, Men's Golf, Men's Gymnastics, Men's Ice Hockey, Men's Lacrosse, Men's Rifle, Men's Skiing, Men's Volleyball, Men's Water Polo, Men's Wrestling, Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Crew/Rowing, Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Ice Hockey, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Rifle, Women's Skiing, and Women's Water Polo
In order to be eligible for the Academic All-District Team, a student must be a sophomore or higher in academic and athletic standing, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA, and have either played in 90% of athletic contests or started 66% of athletic contests in the current season.
