LAST TIME OUT
Montclair fell on the road to rival Stockton by a score of 13-7. Stockton drew first blood right off the first face-off, scoring 44 seconds in. They extended the lead to 2-0, taking advantage of a failed clear and scoring at 9:02. RYAN VIERBUCHEN cut into the lead with a goal at the 6:57 timestamp, but Stockton answered with a goal 57 seconds later to take a 3-1 lead. The Ospreys controlled possession for the majority of the final minutes of the quarter. They scored one last goal with 25 seconds remaining to hold a 4-1 edge going into the second frame. The Ospreys continued their momentum, scoring two more goals within the first three minutes of the second period. The Red Hawks won the ensuing face-off, and BRIAN KELLY fired in a goal to cut the lead to 6-2. Montclair was only able to generate that one goal on five shots on goal. Stockton tallied two more goals before the half's end for an 8-2 advantage. Early in the third, Stockton went back on the attack, but a few key saves by NICHOLI HALSE in succession from 12:47 to 12:37 kept the Ospreys off the board again. At 9:48, Kelly had a shot get saved, but MAX MOROSOFF collected the ground ball off the rebound and put a shot into the back of the net. Halse made another big stop about a minute later and gave Montclair possession again for Morosoff to nab his second goal off an assist from Kelly to halve the lead to 8-4. An unnecessary roughness and offside penalties allowed Kelly to find JONATHAN SLUSSER for the man-up goal for an 8-5 lead, a score that went into the fourth quarter. JACOB HOLICKI won the first face of the fourth and had a free run to the net, but had his shot saved. Following a failed clear by Montclair, Stockton got itself back on the board at 14:15 to extend the lead to 9-5. Following another Vierbuchen goal, Stockton strung together three goals from 8:27 to 6:43 to command a 12-6 lead. Slusser found one more goal with just under a minute and a half remaining and Stockton capped off the day with a goal with 21 seconds remaining to seal a 13-7 triumph.
