CHRIS MEIXNER (Hamburg, NJ/Vernon) scored four goals and added an assist as Montclair State routed City College of New York, 20-0 in Knickerbocker Conference Men's Lacrosse action at Sprague Field on Saturday afternoon.
KEVIN GONDRESÂ (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn),
MATT VON KLEMPERER (Summit, NJ/Summit),
MICHAEL EARL (S. Brunswick, NJ/S. Brunswick) and
JOE DINAPOLI (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) each scored two goals for the Red Hawks (6-2, 3-2 KLC), who shut out CCNY (0-7, 0-4 KLC) for the second straight year. MSU posted an 11-0 triumph in New York on April 7, 2001.
Gondres scored the first two Montclair goals of the game as he took assists from
SEAN PEKARSKY (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) and scored 1:06 into the contest and again at 8:52. Meixner tallied the first of his four scores with 5:23 to go in the first period and added his second with 4:20 remaining. Von Klemperer closed out six-goal first period with two goals in a 62-second span.
Pekarsky finished with five assists for Montclair State, which outshot CCNY, 46-23.
Three MSU goalkeepers combined for 10 saves in the shutout.
MARK FERLANTI (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) stopped six shots, while
MIKE VALENZANO (Woodcliffe Lakes, NJ/St. Joseph's Regional) had four saves. Montclair State had 11 different players register a goal in the game.
Michael Yee (Queens, NY/Stuyvesant) had 26 saves for the Beavers.
