Montclair, NJ – Montclair State University men's lacrosse sophomore long-stick midfielder/defender SEAN STEPHENSON is proudly representing the Red Hawks on the international stage as a member of Team Jamaica at the U20 Men's Lacrosse Championships.
Established in 1988, the World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship showcases some of the top under-20 talent from across the globe. The tournament is held every three to four years, with this year's edition taking place in Seogwipo, South Korea.
Stephenson earned a spot on Team Jamaica's roster and has already made his presence felt. He has helped Jamaica open tournament play with a 2-1 record, highlighted by a standout performance in a 17-7 victory over host South Korea, where he scored a goal. On the defensive end, he has been a key contributor to two wins in which Jamaica held opponents under 10 goals.
At Montclair State, Stephenson's role expanded significantly this past season. After appearing in just three games as a freshman, he played in 13 contests during the 2025 campaign, recording 11 ground balls and forcing seven turnovers.
Stephenson and Team Jamaica will face Team Ireland in a play-in game on Wednesday, August 20, with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
