Montclair, NJ – Montclair State student-athletes picked up three honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference on Monday. Senior GEORGE ALEXANDRIS captured the final Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week while junior HAYDEN REYES was tabbed Baseball Player of the Week. Senior LEANNE MCCLOSKEY took home Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Alexandris put the finishing touches on an outstanding season as he claimed his fifth honor this season and seventh overall. He finished third in the long jump earning All-America honors leaping 7.30 meters at the NCAA Championships in Boston. The NJAC Most Outstanding Athlete, Alexandris became the first MSU athlete to earn All-America honors in the event since 2002 and the fourth overall.

Reyes had solid day at the plate as Montclair opened its Florida trip with a split against Westminster (PA) at the RussMatt Invitational. Reyes went 6-for-7 with three runs scored, two RBI and a double in the two games. Reyes was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in the opener and followed that up with a 3-for-3 performance with two runs scored in a 12-2 victory.

McCloskey helped the Red Hawks extend their win streak to three games with a pair of victories. McCloskey recorded five ground balls and forced four turnovers as MSU rallied back from four goals down in a 15-14 overtime win over Misericordia. She also pulled in five draws. McCloskey then spearheaded a Red Hawk defense that allowed just one goal in an 11-1 win at Farmingdale State. She collected four ground balls, forced two turnovers and had on draw in the victory.
