Montclair, NJ – The Montclair State outdoor track and field claimed five spots on the NJAC All-Conference Teams announced on Thursday and Friday. The all-conference honors were based on performances at the 2019 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which were conducted at Stockton University on May 4-5.
Freshman
KELLY WECKSTEIN earned the lone spot on the women's side as she was named Honorable Mention in the 10,000 meters after placing third in the event at the conference meet. She is the first Red Hawk in program history to claim All-NJAC honors in the 10,000 meters.
For the men, freshman
ANTHONY DIMAULO was named Second Team in the decathlon. DiMaulo finished second at the NJAC meet totaling 4,743 points. That included first-place showings in three of them. DiMaulo ran 6.37 seconds to capture the 100 meters and posted wins in the long jump (6.25 meters) and high jump (1.87 meters). He placed second in the shot put at 9.80 meters and ran 53.18 in the 400 meters for third.
MATTHEW CARMICHAEL collected the first All-NJAC for MSU in the 3,000-meter steeplechase where he was named Honorable Mention. MSU also earned its first All-NJAC accolade in the 4x100 since 2015 as the group of
BRANDON RIZZO,
JACK ROSEN,
AARON HAYWARD and
SYHIM JACKSON placed third and were Honorable Mention. Rizzo joined
JAMES FOX,
SEBASTIAN CORTES and
DARRIN LEONARD on the 4x400 relay that was also Honorable Mention. It marked the fifth straight year the Red Hawks claimed all-conference honors in that event.
